Marriage is Defended

Thank you California, Arizona and Florida for defending the sacred union of marriage. Every time the issue of same-sex marriage comes to the voters we defend marriage as it is defined by our creator. Although this is a sad day in many ways, I am extremely proud of the work we are doing to protect marriage. California we have proved that we are not all liberals here. God's beautiful gift of marriage will not be offended. Liberal judges WILL NOT take away our voice.

Funny you should mention that Andi. Last night as Leo, Tickles and I were driving in Hollywood traffic came to a dead stop at a stop light with a police car blocking the intersection. Over a thousand protesters proceeded to march down Sunset Blvd. with "No on 8" signs and rainbow flags.

Of course Leo had to yell, "You lost! It's not the American Way!" out of the car before Anna and I told him to stop. He claimed it was justice because we don't want them to think that it's normal. The LA Times heading was controversial Prop 8 passed. Suddenly, our stance is the controversial one. They're still fighting and will continue to I'm sure since they are such a loud minority, but it is only a loud minority for now.

But theyre a very smart minority because they've painted a picture of "oppression" and not having any rights...which ahs gotten a TON of heterosexuals on board - otherwise they'd be a teeny tiny minority. Wait, thats sad that we now have to identify our sexuality...LAME. I've been equating what happened in our election to this: a bunch of kids decide they want to play kickball during recess. One kid who doesn't like kickball goes to the teacher and complains that they other kids won't play with him because they're playing kickball. The teacher breaks up the game and has the kids play whatever the one kid wants to "keep the peace." Pretty lame.

Maybe the people who think that homosexuals lost rights yesterday need to check out CA Civil Code section 299. i dug around for awhile and it turns out that a registered domestic partnership has ALL the legal rights that spouses have. They can have a wedding, call each other whatever they want...so why do they need to "redefine" marriage. Do we need to redefine what a mother is so that men can be mothers to?? I dunno, but I'm sure it'll happen when a man tries to become a woman then tries to have a baby and wants to be it's "mother". Oi. Sorry for the rant.

Last thought: http://www.petitiononline.com/seg5130/petition.html

That petition is to tell our governor to not let prop 8 pass. It's funny how each of the "FACTS" it states is really a lie. They say one thing and do another. Example:

Fiction: If Prop 8 isnt passed, people can be sued over personal beliefs.
Fact: Californias laws already prohibit discrimination against anyone based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. This has nothing to do with marriage.

Except that in NM a wedding photographer got sued for not wanting to work at a lesbian "wedding" and a Dr. in my town got sued because he didn't want to do fertility treatments on a lesbian couple and referred them to a colleague that would do it. So basically they got sued over personal beliefs...
